Smål Market contains seven small-footprint, affordable and flexible commercial spaces for you to choose from. Each space comes equipped with signage, shelving, and modest storage access. You can customize your space to reflect your unique brand identity. As a Smål business, you will have access to a robust network of small business mentors, as well as educational programming to enhance your skills, knowledge, and operations.

Programming includes financing education and coaching through Chase Bank, and regular educational workshops on topics including: branding, marketing, finding local support, commercial space acquisition, and more! 

We understand that operating a brick-and-mortar store is no easy feat, which is why we hired someone to help you out.

The Smål Market Store Manager will oversee the shared retail space and serve as a support resource for your business operations.

While we require business owners to be present most of the time, we understand the need for flexibility. Need to attend a weekend pop-up or market? Our Store Manager will be there to engage with customers, monitor your space, and even make sales in your absence.

Program participants will sign a 12-month lease agreement which provides an opportunity for you to test and scale your concept, understand seasonal market changes, and get to know the Ballard neighborhood and marketplace.
